Summer Activities is a week long day program for children who love horses, want to ride and learn more about them while and their care and making new friends. Our program runs from 9 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. Participants learn basic riding skils or improve on the skills they already have. They also get to take care of he horses as though they were the owner.
Activities that children will get to participate in:
Riding Lessons
Crafts
Horse Care
Simple Vaulting moves
Bathing horses
Grooming horses
and more...
A normal day starts with being assigned a horse and then catching them and getting them ready to ride. After a lesson in the riding ring followed by a short cool off walk, the horses are untacked and hosed off. The participants then work on cleaning a stall, or pen wherever the horse resides. Then it's lunch and crafts, maybe a dip in the kiddie pool if they are interested. Afternoons are fun on the ground activities, sometimes another ride. Then before they know it, it's time to gather things up to head home for the day.
Friday afternoons are set aside for parents to come out and see what their children have worked on and accomplished over the week. The can watch the participants groom and tack up as well as ride and care for the horse when they finish. This gives the parents a taste of the hard work their children did during the week.
